Album Review: Travis Scott & Quavo, 'Huncho Jack, Jack Huncho'

In the spirit of Christmas, Travis Scott and Quavo have finally bestowed their highly anticipated collaborative album upon us. The album commences with a soulful Otis Redding sample followed by the hottest streak of rap tracks all year. The first four songs on the album showcase the inimitable chemistry of Travis and Quavo and their acute ear for melody and production. Truthfully, the album falls flat after the incredibly high bar the first quartet of tracks set, but it's still passable. The main issue with the album is the unforgivable lack of experimentation. Overall, the songs stay in the artists' comfort zones which compromises the opportunity for true creativity to flourish. Huncho Jack, Jack Huncho is fine but it's fear of the unknown prevents it from being great.

SCORE: 50
