Single Review: Cardi B, "Bartier Cardi"

Like it or not, Cardi B is here to stay. Cardi cements herself as the reigning princess of rap on her new 21 Savage-assisted single, "Bartier Cardi." The track remains in the New York trap lane that Cardi first cruised down with the inescapable "Bodak Yellow;" unlike her previous single, this song is stacked with hooks in the chorus, pre-chorus, intro, and verses. The song carries the weight of proving that Cardi can get another hit with her own song, but it doesn't buckle under the pressure. Cardi puts a Bronx spin on the wildly influential Migos flow and she sounds hungry the entire song. 21 Savage delivers another hilarious verse, check out the "hot sauce" line, and he is a nice assistant to the main act that is Cardi B. Although it feels like she could have come a bit harder, Bartier Cardi did exactly what she had to do.
